In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My front cover is a conventional front cover for the hip hop genre of music magazines. The title of the front cover connotes this music and electric font, this is gives it a representation of the mixing part of the hip hop music. Also, with the name being called Beat this also backs up the representation of the mixing part in the hip hop music. The Mise-en-scene structure of this front cover is the three people who are in the group with the person on the far left being in front of the title making the magazine being the thing that is less important than them, making the group bold and important. Also the expression on their faces tell the viewer which type of people they are which then tell the audience what type of music they will be like and will put into a stereotype. Also the person the far left as headphones round his neck to state his role in the group and to make him look apart of the audience’s ideas of this group. The placements of the fonts on the image are placed into the gaps on the image to make it look full with information and also to give it its professional looks. My magazine is inspired from the magazine Vibe why the way its set out and also the house style on the pages. Also I feel that the people that read Vibe would be the type of audience that read my magazine.

My contents page is similar to my front cover with the house style of font colours and text and the image that is on the page is the one of the people from the group from the double page spread. So it links up with the main article in the magazine.

The double page spread of my magazine has the same house style of fonts from the magazine. The double page spread is about the group who are on my front cover so the image of the group is big to give them this big representation making them look more than this new group. It allows them to get out into the media quickly. The theme of the double page spread is layed out like the other pages to pull in that certain target audience. With the drop caps and the pull quote the double page spread fits into the conventional double page spreads in a magazine with also other sections on the page that gives the audience something or somewhere else to get more information about the group like with mine I have the twitter, itunes and also their tour dates on there. So it advertises the group getting them into the media.

Mood Board Analysis

This is my mood board for my magazine that i will be doing for my magazine. The images that are presented on this mood board are the representations that are specfic and represent that target group. Fashion is very important to my target audience as they like to show off there clothing which makes them apart of their 'crew'. They also enjoy the feeling and having money. It is something this target audience enjoy to use and boast about helping them with their 'swag' and also them a higher ego. Another element of my target audience is that they enjoy to smoke illegal drugs getting the enjoyment of relaxing and getting this high. Alot of the rappers that are featured in my magazine rap about marijuanna so alot of the audience consume this drug wanting to be apart of this group. Fast food is a easy food substance for them as they arn't a kitchen person with also living in a big city landscape it is easier to grab some fast food then prepping and taking time in the kitchen when it can be done with ease. The music and culture is the most important thing about my magazine that represent my target audience as they highly follow the music and culture of hip hop with the art in the music.

Breakdown of cast, props etc.

Location
The photos for my music magazine will be outside at wall that has graffiti on it. I will be taking my picture here because it will give of the hip hop representation with the graffiti being a stereotypical house style in the hip hop genre.

Cast
In my photos i will be using a selected amount of my friends that will help me to represent the hip hop theme. Varying from the age of 16 to 23 which is close to the age I'm aiming for my magazine. Also i will have a white person on my front cover as it is unconventional to be on the front cover of a hip hop magazine.

Props
I wil be using a few props in my photo's, such as

Clothes
I will be getting my models to wear something that shows off what my magazine is about. So they will be wearing something that if someone saw they would know that this is linked to the hip hop genre

Setting
I want it to be set outside in a industrial setting to give it the gangster. hip hop theme.
