In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My front cover is a conventional front cover for the hip hop genre of music magazines. The title of the front cover connotes this music and electric font, this is gives it a representation of the mixing part of the hip hop music. Also, with the name being called Beat this also backs up the representation of the mixing part in the hip hop music. The Mise-en-scene structure of this front cover is the three people who are in the group with the person on the far left being in front of the title making the magazine being the thing that is less important than them, making the group bold and important. Also the expression on their faces tell the viewer which type of people they are which then tell the audience what type of music they will be like and will put into a stereotype. Also the person the far left as headphones round his neck to state his role in the group and to make him look apart of the audience’s ideas of this group. The placements of the fonts on the image are placed into the gaps on the image to make it look full with information and also to give it its professional looks. My magazine is inspired from the magazine Vibe why the way its set out and also the house style on the pages. Also I feel that the people that read Vibe would be the type of audience that read my magazine.

My contents page is similar to my front cover with the house style of font colours and text and the image that is on the page is the one of the people from the group from the double page spread. So it links up with the main article in the magazine.

The double page spread of my magazine has the same house style of fonts from the magazine. The double page spread is about the group who are on my front cover so the image of the group is big to give them this big representation making them look more than this new group. It allows them to get out into the media quickly. The theme of the double page spread is layed out like the other pages to pull in that certain target audience. With the drop caps and the pull quote the double page spread fits into the conventional double page spreads in a magazine with also other sections on the page that gives the audience something or somewhere else to get more information about the group like with mine I have the twitter, itunes and also their tour dates on there. So it advertises the group getting them into the media.
